托福独立写作三个步骤
第一步：审题
确定立场、列出理由最少3分钟最多5分钟。避免两个极端用时太少，理由没有想清楚就开始写作，不仅造成文章逻辑结构不清，还会引起行文中频繁的修正。
第二步：正文写作
最少22分钟最多26分钟。考前将文章开头、结尾、例证、让步等各种句套背熟练，并且练习和模考时把他们用熟，要象做完型填空一样对待考场作文。别试图在考场上再临场去决定哪种开头好，怎样结尾好。最好能使用自己考前总结的套话。
第三步：检查
需要1-3分钟，有侧重点地检查句法(确保每句话是完整的，有谓语，且简单句只有一个谓语)、时态(文章绝大部分使用的是一般现在时;一般现在时第三人称要使用单数;使用过去发生的事例时用的是过去时)、主谓一致。
托福独立写作如何审题
其实托福独立写作题目都不是令人费解的题目，句子不会太长，词汇也都是生活中常见的小词。即便如此，也不是每个学生都能审对题，审好题。
比如托福考试中曾经考过这样一个题目：To teach students the importance of a subject outside school is the best way to increase the students’ interest in a subject，就有学生把它翻译成“在学校外教给学生某个科目的重要性是提升他们对这个科目兴趣度的最好方法”，然后接下来论述的都是如何在校外教给学生某一科目的重要性。
毫无疑问，该同学因为一个失误，离题八百里，惨遭失分。
为什么会出现这种悲剧?因为他在审题的时候把状语“outside school” 的修饰词搞错了。根据状语的就近修饰原则，在这里 “outside school” 应该修饰 “importance”，而不是距它非常之遥远的 “teach”， 所以这道题目正确的翻译是“教给学生某一科目在校外的重要性是提高他们对该科目兴趣的最好办法。”那么接下论述中应该特别强调科目在校外有什么重要性。
托福题目虽然简单，但是字字如金，对一个状语、一个名词甚至一个介词的理解错误都可能导致偏题甚至离题。所以，我平时会建议学生在拿到一个托福题目之后首先把它翻译成中文，如果翻译后的中文句子读不通顺或者跟常识不符，就表示他审题出错了。
审对题目是扣题的基础，要深入领会出题人的意思还要审好题目，也就是抓住题目的关键词。以TPO的一个考试题目为例：“Movies and television programs should always present stories in which good people are rewarded and bad people are punished.” (电影和电视节目应该总是播放惩恶扬善的内容)
寻找关键词第一步：看名词。在这道题目中就是：movies, television programs和stories。
寻找关键词第二步：看动词。在这里就是：present.
寻找关键词第三步：看形容词和副词。也就是题目中的:always，请注意这里的副词是一个频率词，这类词常常就是一个很好的切入点。
寻找关键词第四步：看状语和定语。题目中是一个定语从句在这里修饰story，如果题目出现用一个定语从句修饰一个名词的情况，一般情况下这个名词就是题目中的主角，应该格外注意。
把题目中的主要关键词串联起来，就会发现这道题是想让考生讨论一下电影等文化产品是不是只能播放惩恶扬善的故事，接下来的论述自然惩恶扬善故事的好处和不足。
