破句也称为片语，是考生作文中常犯的另一个错误。破句实际上就是非完整句，这样的句子在结构上是不完整的，在语法上也是不正确的。英语中，一个意思和结构都完整的句子至少有主语和谓语两部分，当然祈使句除外。若将句子中的某一部分当作一个句子，就会导致破句错误。
