英语中过去时代替一般时的情况

　　过去一般时：过去一般时用于表示过去发生的动作，或者存在过的状态、特征、身份、性质等。

　　在口语中，表示愿望、请求、征询时常用过去一般时代替现在一般时，显得委婉、客气一些。

　　较客气：

　　Could you open the door for me?

　　你能帮我打开门吗?

　　直接：

　　Can you open the door for me?

　　较委婉：

　　I wondered if you would lend your bike to me.

　　我不知道你是否愿意借自行车给我。

　　直接：

　　I wonder if you will lend your bike to me.

　　较委婉：

　　Did you want to talk with me?

　　你想跟我交谈一下?

　　直接：

　　Do you want to talk with me?

　　较委婉：

　　We hoped that you could help us out.

　　我们希望你们能帮助我们渡过难关。

　　直接：

　　We hope that you can help us out.
