　　英语阅读：甲壳虫Beetle

　　I don’t know how dad drove home a Beetle car， which is so handsome， cool， bright， and modern. I didn’t response (反应) to it until my father took my mother and I home by car， with one-time payment generously (慷慨地). We have another family car， while mother and I are in surprise and excitement.

　　我也不知道老爸怎么样就把一台帅呆了、酷毙了、锃光瓦亮、时尚的甲壳虫开回家的。等老爸豪迈地一次性付完车款，载着我和妈妈回到家里时，我们这才反应过来。在我和妈妈的诧异、兴奋中，我们家又多了一台车。

　　What is the Beetle? It is a kind of German speedster (轿跑车). The Beetle， 2.0 liter， limited in dark orange version with a skylight (天窗)， has a round body with aristocratic (贵族气派的). Compared with our old family car Chevrolet (雪佛兰)， the Beetle is noble in heaven but the old car is humble (简陋的) under the ground! Dad drove the Beetle home on Christmas Eve， and it made us very happy.

　　甲壳虫，何物也?它是德国产的轿跑车。咱家这台甲壳虫，限量墨橘版，2.0排量，带天窗，浑圆的车身透着股贵族气息。和咱家原来那台老的雪佛兰比，简直就是一个天上一个地下!平安夜爸爸开着甲壳虫回家，令我们欣喜不已。

　　The car is my mom’s birthday gift， and mom treats it as a treasure. Every time I get into the car， mom is yelling (叫喊)， “Zilin， rise your ‘hoof (蹄)’， and don’t make my seat dirty!” “Zilin， close the door softly， and it is a senior car!” “Zilin， move your paws (爪子) away， and don’t touch here and there.” “Zilin ...” Her words made me bounce (弹跳) up and down like a bead， afraid to touch anything， but only to keep still like a blockhead (木头人)!

　　这台车是老爸送给老妈的生日礼物，老妈把它当个宝一样。每次上车时，妈妈都大呼小叫：“子霖，你那‘蹄子’抬高一点，不要弄脏了我的车座!”“子霖，关门的时候轻一点，这可是高级车!”“子霖，把你的‘爪子’拿开，别到处瞎摸!”“子霖……”说得我像个珠子一样上蹿下跳，畏畏缩缩，碰不得这也碰不得那，简直都快成木头人了!

　　We have only a garage (车库)， so dad’s exclusive (专属的) car， the Chevrolet， only takes a back seat to the new car， my mom’s favorite Beetle. Woke up this morning， I saw the poor Chevrolet， covered with a thick snow， had been lying alone in the stormy snow since Christmas Eve.

　　我们家只有一个车库，所以老爸的专属坐骑，那台雪佛兰，只有退居二线了，给老妈最爱的甲壳虫让位。今天早上起来，我看见可怜的雪佛兰披着一层厚厚的雪衣，孤零零地卧在平安夜的风雪里。

　　One night after Christmas， father helped mother to drive the Beetle out of the garage because her eyesight is not so good. Mother sat next to father， with a pair of near-sighted glasses on her nose， like a policewoman， guiding dad to go out toward the road. Once they were on the road， mother held her old business， as an announcer (播音员) as before， talking endlessly to broadcast (广播) the traffic， and worrying about hurting her beloved Beetle!

　　圣诞节过后的某个晚上，由于妈妈视力不太好，爸爸帮妈妈把甲壳虫开出来，妈妈坐在旁边，鼻梁上架着一副近视眼镜，像个女交警似的，指挥着老爸往马路上开去。一上路，妈妈就操起她那播音员的老行当，喋喋不休及时地播报路况，唯恐伤害了她心爱的甲壳虫!

　　In any case， the Beetle is really a scenery in the street： unique personality (个性)， attractive temperament (气质)， beating color， and strong power. The rate of second glance is one hundred percent! Mother loves her Beetle， just like loving father and me; it is father’s love that makes mother’s dream come true， and father’s love makes this winter colorful and warmer as well.

　　不过，我们家的甲壳虫还真是街上的一道风景：独特的个性，迷人的气质，跳动的色彩，强劲的马力。回头率那还真是百分之百啊!妈妈热爱甲壳虫就像热爱老爸和我一样;而老爸的爱，让妈妈圆了她的梦，也让这个冬天多了几分色彩，变得更加温暖起来.
