Firstly I want to ask you two questions. What time did you get up this morning? And do you get up so early every morning? Kobe Bryant, the famous basketball player in NBA,once answered an interview in an activity.He asked the reporter,”Do you know what the sun looks like in the early morning at four o’clock? ” Telling you this thing about Kobe, I’m not saying that we must get up so early the same as Kobe.What I want to say is the thing what we do after we get up. People are always talking about “the problem of youth”. If there is one——which I take leave to doubt——then it is older people who create it,not the youth themselves. Let us get down to the fundamentals. There is an obvious difference between the old and the young: the young have a glorious future ahead them while the old have a splendid future behind them.So what a brilliant future is based on?That’s a dream.
Some young men are oppressed by the fear of future and they don’t dare to dream. There is a justification for this feeling.When I was a teenager,I felt that I was just young and uncertain,and I thought I was just a new guy,I really didn’t know where to go.Until one day,I read a great writer Homer’s words:
“A man dies still if he has done nothing, as one who has done much.”
Then I told myself, it’s time to start. But that’s just a beginning.
To sum up a credo of fulfilling dream in a phrase is persistence pays.You know that overnight success usually takes at least 10 years. One person said,”My overnight success was the longest night of my life,I spent many days and nights just getting
there.” Remember that “Rome was not built in a day.” Many people are just waiting for their ships coming——when they even have not sent the ships out of the harbor.You see,winners simply do what losers don’t want to do. And they keep doing it until they get the success they want.Success is mostly just hanging one after others have let it go!
You see,you can realize your dream just like anyone else. Just keep wanting it enough and keep working for it enough.So why not decide it today to dare your dream. Every day we have eyes to see,minds to think,hands and legs to act. So why not have a dream to make it.It will be a step in your life if you dare to do.Otherwise,it will be a big regret hard to retrieve in the future. At the end of this speech, I want to share two sentences with you. They are from a song “I believe I can fly” and I believe you most of you have listened to it and can sing it.
