Honestly speaking, for the most part, I would probably say that I have a great passion for listening to music and indeed I have listened like thousands of songs so far. However, if I have to pick out a song that I like the most, I would probably choose the song Million Years Ago by Adele. By gorgeous lyrics and melody, it’s like a piece of cake for Adele to make me addicted to this song. A significant feature that I should mention is the song’s meaningful content. It is a regretful calling inside an adult who has born his soul on the way of growing up and earning his stripes. Every now and then I feel he is so desperate that he could do anything to escape the cycle of his life but after all he can’t afford to do so. The reason why I am so fond of this song has something to do with the fact that it provokes so many beautiful memories from my childhood. Although this song is a sad song, it opens my eyes to many things in life, one of them is that you should not take anything for granted, even the simplest one, try to live to your fullest so that one day you would not have to regret that much about the journey that you have been through. Fairly speaking, Million Years Ago is a really good songs for self – reflecting especially when you find yourself lost in the super busy world nowadays.

根据雅思官方数据显示，中国考生的雅思口语平均分数是5.26，是四门考试科目中分数倒数第二低的(写作分数最低)，与阅读分数相差高达0.5分(阅读为5.76)。其实这一点都不令人奇怪。很多学生认为自己平时的口语不错，但是据很多学生反应，口语部分却往往是很多学生实际得分与预期得分差距最大的一科。那么，究竟问题出在了哪里?以下是我总结的学生们所应该注意的三个陷阱。
1.Stereotyped Answers
很多学生很喜欢在口语考试中给出一些stereotyped standard answers. 比如说，当学生一进门，考官说“How are you?”的时候，而大多数考生都会习惯性的回答“Fine, thank you. And you?”“你喜欢什么运动?”“篮球”，这些都可能是学生们在考试中给出的答案。尽管老师们一再叮嘱不要在口语考试中给出这样的答案，但是在那种紧张的情况下，这可能是学生们脑子里所能想到的唯一的答案，也有学生们会认为这些都是正确的答案，从小英语老师们都是这么教的。但是我们需要非常清楚地了解雅思口语考试的本质就是人与人的交流。所以雅思口语考试的评分并不是完全的100%客观依照考生的英语水平来决定的。在评分过程中，整个交流过程肯定会将考生的交流技巧纳入考虑范围内。因此，我们可以想象，考官一个下午可能要面对二三十个学生，如果每个学生都给出同样的答案，那么考官肯定会很容易精神疲劳。所以，除了英文口语表达能力外，学生们还应该注重自己答案的originality, 要想方设法让考官对自己的答案感兴趣才是最重要的。同学们一定要对自己有信心，通过练习总结雅思口语技巧，建议大家最好参加一些雅思口语辅导班。
2.Redundant Colloquial Phrases
流利度一直以来是很多考生所存在的问题，而要解决这个问题，是需要时间的。很多学生看了一些美剧，在口语考试中经常会有意识的用到一些外国人讲话中的语句用来拖延时间以便让自己有更多的时间去整理思绪，不至于出现尴尬的“卡壳”情况，比如说“well, you know”等等。这样的语句偶尔使用是可以的，但是如果学生滥用的话，那必会适得其反。大多数学生认为说“well”，会显得非常的地道，因为外国人对话中经常说，但其实很多中国考生并不能正确的理解well的用法。当说话的人在想下句话该说什么的时候，会用到well,就好比中文当中的“那个，那个..。”一样。或者well 在某些语境下表示既然这样的话，如何如何…比如说“It’s going to rain. What am I supposed to do with my party tonight?”“Well, in that case, we will probablyhold it indoors。”而很多学生对“you know”的用法更是会让考官百思不得其解。比如说“What’s your major?”“You know，internationalpolitics”. 如果考生之前没有跟考官提及过，考官又如何能够知道?所以考生应该慎用这些词组。
3. Telling the Truth
在准备第二部分的时候，很多学生会花很多的时间去想如何去叙述这个故事。其实，这样做的话，既浪费时间，讲出的故事又不会特别吸引到考官的注意力。因此，最好的方法是去编一些故事，而不要去说实话。因为通常我们身边很少发生非常值得回忆，值得讲述的故事或人。所以，要在短短的一分钟内想到这样的故事是种非常大的挑战，更不用说考生们再去用英文表达出来。所以考生更应该在考试之前先准备好一些可以套用的故事，然后再将考官的问题套用在这个题目上。即使在第一部分，考生们也可以做出一些调整，比如说当问到考生在哪里读书时，考生可以自豪地说我是来自某某大学，这所大学是全省乃至全国最好的大学之一。在整个回答过程中，学生们应该树立自己的积极形象，这样一来，考官就会自然而然地肃然起敬，而对考生的尊敬就很有可能转换成为分数的提高。
