  浅析雅思口语的停顿

  停顿的简单介绍:

  停顿,也就是所谓的“pause”,通常指的是讲话人在词与词、一群与一群、句子与句子以及段落与段落之间的短暂停歇。停顿拿捏到位的话,会体现出英语所特有的节奏和韵律, 使得交流更加顺畅。

  如果考生不清楚英文中停顿的含义的话,我们不妨先在中文句子中学习一下。例句为“我/今天/去星巴克/点了/一杯美式咖啡。”按照中文逻辑,此句是按照意群停顿的。若是不懂得停顿的考生把此句按照这样的方式停顿话,即“我今/天去星巴/克点了一杯美式咖/啡。“,那么在交流中就会引起对方的误解,阻碍沟通。那么,在英文中又该如何停顿呢?即I went to Starbucks/ and ordered an Americano.

  其实,在口语句子中的停顿没有一个固定的模式,因为每个人的说话习惯不同,所表达出来的形式也不同。不过,如果所要表达的句子较长的话,一般都是在每个小段部分后有一个停顿,如主语部分,宾语部分等,如:I was kind of hoping / that wouldn’t be an issue. 我本来有点希望这不会是什么问题。

  关于雅思口语停顿的误区:

  流利与连贯是雅思口语评分标准中的一项重要内容,包括多个细节考察点,如运用长句表达的能力及熟练程度,犹豫的次数,语速,自我改正的次数等等。其中,犹豫的次数与停顿之间有着一定的关联。而且很多考生认为停顿的次数越多,越长,分数就越低。实际上,口语水平再好的考生在口语交流中也会有停顿的时候,我们不能一概而论,也不能说停顿就一定不好。关键在于考生是否能够快速找到突破口,及时调整。

  雅思口语停顿的两种情况及应对策略:

  停顿共分为两种情况,一个是思维停顿,另一个是表达停顿。

  思维停顿指的是当考生对考官所问的一些比较抽象(如success方面)或是冷僻或是棘手的问题(如艺术方面,文学方面)无从着手,这时就会习惯性的停顿下来,分数就不会很高了。

  所以,想要达到此目的,除了熟悉了解不同话题的相关背景知识之外,考生要掌握回答技巧。比如问题How has technology changed people’s life?该问题比较抽象,往往觉得没有什么话说。如果单单从较高层面总的去概括科技是如何改变生活的话,就会在语言内容上有一定限制。若考生换个角度思考的话,就大有不同了。也就是说变抽象为具体,考生可以以自己的家庭为例,可以说,以前夏天的时候常常使用电风扇来解热,而现在使用空调,让我们更加舒适。

  另外,考生还要广泛阅读,尤其是自己不太熟悉的范畴,这是非常有必要的。这样当考官问出问题时,就能快速想好应该说什么,不应该说什么。自然想说的就非常多了,不会导致思维的停顿。

  表达停顿指的是当表达观点或想法时,考生遇到不会说的词或句,或是前后句子不知该如何连贯表达时,就会产生“哑口无言“的尴尬情况。

  想要克服这种停顿,考生一方面要扩充自己的口语词汇量,加强语法基础的学习之外,还要多积累一些常用的停顿表达方法,比如 actually, you see, you know what等等,以便达到表达的流利与连贯。

  Being an accountant is my dream job. Accounting involves number crunching, math skills and organization. However, accounting is no longer the stereotyped dull job that it used to be. The change in the corporate culture has resulted in adding more glamour and importance to an accountant's job. In fact, the hot new field is forensic accounting where you don the role of detective to figure out who has been playing funny with the money. The number crunching aspect is still there, but the role is not limited to that alone.

  To be an accountant, the first step is to locate a learning institution providing classes in the field, by making absolute sure the institution is recognized by the relevant accounting agency. After that, I want to take the monster test--CPA examination.

  I am a careful and organized person and I think these personalities are an accountant's qualification. Moreover, I don't like adventures I hope everything in my life goes well, and accounting is fit in this point. What you need is sitting in your office and makes your work done. In addition, the pay can be lucrative as well.

  Like what I mentioned, accounting involves number crunching, math skills and having a good understanding of financial transactions. Moreover, you have to be pretty good at memorizing rules and concepts. Also, you have to be good at putting word problems into a mathematical form.

Recently, I read an awesome article about 100 Easy Ways to Be Healthy Inside and Out. I was totally fascinated by it, for it points out that we should pay close attention to life details to keep healthy, such as, trim your hair with a regular time, don't over-wash your skin, and get at least 60 minutes of exercise daily and so on. Read on to learn about 100 different ways to make an easy and healthy change for the better. That's the reason why l prefer to read this magazine.

  7. So, in short, those are my views on an interesting building.
