GRE作文考试的流程
考生首先应熟悉GRE作文考试的流程，一般情况下，考生从到达考场到考试完毕，通常分为以下六步：
第一、考生查考号，领取柜子钥匙和夹着纸的硬板，纸上是所要抄的誓言。听完监考老师讲完注意事项后，就开始抄誓言，写地址条(考生收信地址，英文格式和邮政编码)。
第二、把随身携带的所有东西(除了两个证件之外)都存入柜子里。任何食品、饮料、滴眼液等与考试无关的物品都不允许带入考场。注意：考试过程中是不允许脱衣服的，所以考生要视环境冷热而行。
第三、监考老师开始检查考生的证件，发草稿纸(六张)。
第四、老师按号要求考生照相(对着摄像头)，核对姓名和地址之类的。然后考生进考场，耳塞都挂在电脑桌的隔板上，两支铅笔放在桌上。
第五、开始考试后，首先熟悉键盘和鼠标和填写背景调查(这两个步骤都可以跳过)，填写两个笔考考场。然后写ISSUE和ARGUMENT。最后填写送分学校。
第六、到了考场门口把草稿纸还给老师。
注：各个考场可能细节上不太一样，考生们应视具体情况而定。另外，考生还应注意几个问题。
注意问题一：必须带好的证件
准考证号是注册时候发到邮箱里面的那封邮件上面的号码，邮件不用打印出来，只要考试时记着号码就可以。
参加GRE/GMAT考试的考生要携带两类有效证件，其中至少有一个是第一类证件。第一类证件至少有一种是护照、正式居民身份证或军官证.第二类证件可以是驾驶证、带钢印的工作证(不接受工作卡) 、往来港澳通行证、外国人居留证、港澳居民回乡证或由正规大专院校颁发的学生证(不含五大：电视大学、夜大学、职业大学、业余大学、函授大学;其他任何培训性质的院校或培训项目颁发任何形式的证书均不接受)。
缺少第二类证件，可到考生本人所在学校学生处、单位人事部门、户籍所在地派出所、档案所在人才交流中心、街道办事处开具身份证明信(户籍所在地派出所开具的证明信应该是有照片、盖有户籍章的格式打印户籍证明。其他证明信需有本人照片、本人签字、本人身份证号码，个人体貌特征描述和经办单位人事部门电话，经办人签字，并且在照片上盖有介绍单位的公章)。
按照ETS要求，考场不接受以下证件作为考试证件：(但不仅限于此)：临时证件(包括临时身份证、临时驾驶执照、临时工作证等)，过期的证件(包括过期身份证、过期驾驶执照、过期工作证等)，国际驾驶执照，社会保险卡 ，任何信用卡 ，公证函 ，工作卡 ，出入证(卡)。
未按要求出示证件的考生，考场有权拒绝其参加考试。持任何假证件的考生不能参加考试。证件方面如果出现问题(例如身份证遗失)或者出现自己无法确定的情况，请千万提前打电话到考试中心询问清楚相关事宜。
另注意，如果发生证件不全情况，考试中心会要求考生尽快拿回证件，但是一天只有2场考试，如果在最后一场考试开始后还没有带来，就不能再考试了。最后一场在上午11点到场。
提醒：请各位务必自行确认有效证件，避免出现_放弃考试甚至全盘计划被打乱，事后再后悔不迭的情况出现!
注意问题二：草稿纸的问题
进入考场之后，工作人员会发给每一个考生两支铅笔，六张草稿纸。进去之前一定要数一下确认。六张草稿纸是钉在一起的，不要弄散，出来的时候要还回去，一张也不能少，发现少了会很麻烦。如果考场上不发草稿纸，可以给考点要索取。
注意不要在做问卷的时候写模板。很多考生在做作文前的问卷调查时就在草稿纸上写模板了，这是不允许的，会被视作作弊。考生可以适当的写一些提纲，这样会在写作时有清晰的思路。
注意问题三：时间的分配
整个考试总共120分钟。在最前面在电脑上填写一些个人信息之类的，以及让你熟悉界面，是45分钟。 ISSUE 45分钟，ARGUEMNT 30分钟，这样就是120分钟。 ISSUE和ARGUMENT两个部分之间没有休息时间。
如果之前已经用PP3模拟考过的，最前面那45分钟的很多内容都可以跳过去。但是跳过去的部分节省的时间不能算到作文里。一旦选择结束这个调查和熟悉界面的部分，考试立即开始.，即看到作文题时记时已经开始。所以审题和列提纲的时间都是在45/30分钟内。
另外，左下角有个倒记时的小钟，前40分钟可以点击它，使左上角的数字倒计时消失。但最后5分钟无论你愿意不愿意，左上角的倒计时都会出现。
注意问题四：考试时的界面是TXT
TXT只有复制剪切粘贴的功能，没有WORD的纠错功能。虽然平时模考的pp3在windows下执行的时候右键仍然可以用(因为是文本框)，真正考试的时候鼠标的左右键是完全一样的，所以提醒惯用鼠标右键进行cut或者paste等操作的考生，平时准备的时候要注意到这一点，实际考试时没有这种快捷键。
注意问题五：免费寄成绩的学校的填写
考试前要想好确定自己要填哪几所学校，哪个专业。学校的选择是按国家、州、学校、专业来选的，所以考生只要知道学校的全称和学校在哪个州。BULLETIN上也有学校代码。虽然给出的选择的州名不是全称，但也不是两个子母的缩写，每个人只要知道州名的全称都可以分辨出来那种形式州名的缩写。如果实在不确定，可以向监考老师询问。建议考生选与自己水平适合的中等大学，太好的先别选。
注意问题六：表和耳机
关于用来计时的表，如果你想带进考场，一定要戴指针的，手机或其它电子计时器是不被允许的。
关于耳机，各个考点所提供的耳机是不同的。建议大家开始就戴上耳机，因为周围嘈杂的键盘声和因错误操作而产生的不绝于耳的“滴滴”声可能会影响考生的情绪。
注意问题七：考完之后
笔考准考证(AdmissionTicket)从美国ETS本部寄出，目前没有明确的数据表明在作文考试几天之后一定可以拿到准考证。如果在笔考日期之前的2到3个礼拜仍没有拿到准考证，请立刻与ETS本部联系。Email地址为：gre-info@ets.org。
