1)用作并列连词

a.引导选择状语从句(adverbial clause of preference)或选优分句(clause of preference)
表示主观上选优。主句表示喜欢做的事(主句常用would, prefer, like等)，从句则表示不喜欢做的事。谓语用不带to的不定式，强调强烈的取舍欲望，译作：“宁可……决不……”。从句多位于主句前。
