banana 香蕉
(1) bananas (to be):
to be crazy 发疯的,神经错乱的
注：to go bananas:
a. to become crazy. 发疯,神经错乱
例：
I'm so bored I'm going bananas.
我烦得要死，快发疯了。
b. to become wild with anger 狂怒,气得发疯
例：
She went bananas when she found him cheating.
她发现他欺骗时气得要命。
(2) play second banana (to):
to be second choice
第二选择，次要人物
例：
I always play second banana to her.
我总是做她的后补。
(3) top banana:
main boss
领袖，头头，大老板
例：
He's (the) top banana in this company.
他是这家公司的大老板.
apple 苹果
(1) apple of one's eye (to be the):
to be one's favorite 掌上明珠;心爱物
例：
She is the apple of her father's eye.
她是她父亲的掌上明珠。
(2) Big Apple (the):
New York
大苹果城(即纽约)
例：
I live in the Big Apple. 我住在大苹果城。
(3) compare apples and oranges (to):
to compare two things that simply cannot be compared.
比较两个无法相比的事物
例：
That's ridiculous.Now you're comparing apples and oranges.
真可笑。你是在那两种无法相比的东西作比较，就好像苹果和桔子。
(4) "How do you like the apples?"
"What do you think of that ?"
注：这是对某种冒犯性行为做出报复后说的话。

例：

这里的一切都井然有序。
lemon 柠檬
shoddy goods
劣质商品
例：
His car was a lemon, it broke down in a month.
他的车质量有问题，一个月坏了两次。
grapes 葡萄
sour grapes
酸葡萄，也就是我们常说的“吃不着葡萄就说葡萄酸”。
例：
He said he didn’t want the job anyway, but that’s just sour grapes.
他说他不想干这份工作，只不过是吃不着葡萄说葡萄酸而已。
注：sour grapes 虽然是复数形式，与之搭配的动词则是单数形式。
melon 甜瓜
It is sometimes used as slang for head or, vulgarly, for large breasts.
有时表示“头”，有时表示“大胸”
peach 桃子

很漂亮，优秀或甜美。
例：
